He practices at each office location as follows: Monday and Tuesday and Thursday-1960 office location; Wednesday and Friday and Saturday office location -The Woodlands office location. He has over 25 years of experience as a therapist, with Doctoral degrees in both Psychology and Counseling with an emphasis in Marriage and Family therapy. He specializes in [individual, couples and family therapy and he is currently serving as a private practitioner working with a broad spectrum of clients. He works with a wide variety of issues and concerns including, but not limited to, mood disorders, relationship and marital difficulties, AD/HD evaluations, stress, work related issues, anger management, conflict resolution, grief and loss issues, self esteem issues, anxiety and depression, panic disorders, adolescent substance abuse and mood disorder evaluations, trauma and loss issues, weather related issues and alcohol and drug issues.
He has worked on site as an employee assistance counselor with the United States Postal Service for one year, the United Space Alliance for three years and the Federal Aviation Administration for three years.
In addition, John has presented at national and local conferences and to general audiences speaking on the topics of post traumatic stress disorder, alcohol and drug issues, managing change, DOT Substance Abuse Professional (SAP) issues, grief and loss issues, improving communication, co- worker communication, fundamental management skills and improving treatment outcomes in the therapy process. He has spoken on other topics as well.
John is an interactive, solution-focused therapist. His therapeutic approach is to provide support and practical feedback to help clients effectively address personal life challenges. He integrates complimentary methodologies and techniques along with traditional modalities to offer a highly personalized approach tailored to each client. John has one son, Jack, who is 18, whom he loves very much. He is a committed and devoted father. He has been a practicing Christian his whole life and attends church regularly.
Education
John has earned several college degrees. His undergraduate degree major is a B.S. in Rehabilitation Science which he obtained from the University OF Texas, Health Science Center, School Of Allied Health, Dallas, Texas, in August, 1975. He earned two M.S. degrees in Counseling and in Psychology from Texas A & M University in Commerce, Texas. They were obtained in May, 1975 and May, 1977, respectively. He was awarded a Doctor Of Education degree in Counseling with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Texas A & M University in Commerce, Texas in May, 1980. He also has a Doctor Of Philosophy degree in Psychology from the University Of Southern Mississippi that was awarded in May, 1984. He also earned a Doctor of Spiritual Counseling degree in September, 2010. John is a life long learner. He continues to attend educational programs in varied areas of study.

Additional Training
John has additional beginning and advanced training in the Emotional Freedom Technique - EFT, the Jose Silva Basic and Advanced System Methods techniques and has attended numerous training programs in neurofeedback, and other methods to assist individuals to resolve their issues in a positive and beneficial way. He has also completed several courses at The Light University at the American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC). He is a Board Certified Professional Pastoral Counselor certified by the American Association of Christian Counselors Board of Professional Christian Counselors.
